Samuel is at home!

This is Samuel. You prayed for him when he was in the hospital for almost a year with severe burns due to electrocution from a downed wire after a storm. He is at home now, using this wheelchair cart which he can propel himself. While he was in the hospital he became a follower of Jesus. We marvel at God's goodness and thank Him for saving Samuel, physically and spiritually, from the fire.

We continue to pray for him as he has ongoing wound care on his arm. And for the needs he has that are a part of using a wheelchair for mobility. Please pray he will continue growing in his walk with Jesus, healing from his burns, and have what he needs to be mobile in his home and community.

Pendo is growing

Here's an updated picture of Pastor Mike, Edna, and Pendo.
She's growing!

Madylanne is one of her biggest fans. Besides me, that is. :)

Thankful for Mark

I am so thankful to the Lord for Mark,
who has so very many handy skills and talents.
He has been helping Matthew sort out his bicycle tire problems.

And he's been helping me with the oven.
It didn't work and now it does and I am so grateful!
It took an entire day. Thank You, Lord, for Mark and his servant heart.

bake sale, bowling, car wash, and monitor lizards

Yes, I put all these pictures together because this is what our lives are like
...a mixture of many different things!!

Madylanne and her friend Alina enjoyed making goodies for a bake sale recently.

We had a very fun time bowling in Nairobi when we were on our way home from our meeting. This was the first time we ever bowled together as a family!

The kids did an amazing job washing the truck last week.

Look closely and you'll see our dog Kali chasing down a monitor lizard in our yard.

from 55 to 13

One of the most encouraging pieces of information we learned at our meeting was that in the last few years God has helped 42 previously unengaged and unreached people groups become engaged....this means that 42 groups of people now have some kind of ongoing Gospel witness who didn't have this before.

You have been praying for the Ndengereko people....they are no longer on this list!! Two national families have moved into areas where the Ndengereko people live to intentionally live among them to share Jesus with them. Praise God!! Please pray for these nationals...may the Lord help them reach the Ndengereko people with His Good News!

And let's pray for the remaining 13 groups who have yet to be engaged with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May they move from unengaged to engaged in the next few years, too.

Travels

We recently had the amazing privilege to travel for a meeting that refreshed us spiritually and physically as we encountered a completely new continent...we took two days before our meeting for vacation with dear friends. Here are lots o photos to help you see what we saw.

A highlight for me was visiting the Corrie Ten Boom house. I read the book, "The Hiding Place" when I was young about her life. Madylanne read it too and it's one her all time favorites. Then I read the biography to the boys. Taking a tour of her home and listening to the guide share openly that forgiveness only comes through Jesus, and that Jesus is the Victor, was so very inspiring. If you are ever in Amsterdam, I strongly encourage you to visit her home.

This is the room where 6 people hid from the Nazis during WWII.

The canals...so many canals....beautiful!

windmills and clogs

St Bavos Cathedral...this is the church where Corrie Ten Boom was a member...it was built in the 1500's...and Mozart played this organ when he was 10 years old!!

These delicious yummies are called stroop waffles. SO AMAZING.
