Mark and Mom

 Mark spent a month in Kansas with his Mom and siblings. 

We are so grateful he had the opportunity 

to love on her in person. 

We love you, Mom, 

and are praying for you in this season of your life! 

Occupational Therapy at Kisima

 This is what we do on Thursdays...

love on kids through delivering occupational therapy. 

And share Bible stories so that people can 

go home knowing how to have a relationship 

with Jesus through God the Father. They are loved! 

Learning Sign Language

What is Madylanne doing these days, you might ask?

She is learning Sign Language every day

in the big city that is close-ish to us.

She stays there in the city Monday-Thursday and comes home

Thursday afternoon to spend weekends with us.

She's loving what she is learning.

All her teachers are deaf...it's fabulous 

that she is learning from those who 

 use sign in their daily lives.

Madylanne is soaking up this time of immersing herself

in a new language and culture.

May the Lord use this in her life 

to be a blessing to many.

 

First day on campus...10th and 6th grade

Matthew is a 10th grader this year

and Micah is a 6th grader.

Time is flying!! 

 

Birthday fun for Melynda

On my birthday the boys brought me breakfast in bed!

It was a secret mission concocted by our dear friend Nancy

who sells fresh fruit and veggies in her shop...

she asked the boys to come the day before and she loaded 

them up with fruit for them to make me a fruit salad!

What a sweet sweet surprise!!!

 The kids know I love to play games with our family 

so they got me a new card game....Oregon Trail!!

It's so much fun! 

So far we keep dying of dysentery or a broken wagon

but one of these days we're gonna make it to 

Oregon!! 

It's a Baby Boom!

We thank God for this sweet season of babies! 

Pastor Mike and Ednah welcomed Sifa (which means praise) 

into their family on September 3rd. 

She is a sweet bundle of joy 

for which we indeed praise the Lord!!

Two families from our therapy group 

also welcomed new family members over the last few months.

We thank God for all these children and 

pray they will come to know Jesus 

as Savior!

come serve with us!! 

Our hearts were so encouraged to have 

church family from our home state that we know and love

with us.

Pastor John and Amanda Harms walked with us

through cancer in 2014/2015.

They loved on us when we were hurting.

What an absolute joy to host them and serve the Lord together!

with cerebral palsy.

Pastor John led a Shepherding Conference 

for national pastors.

An amazing safari which was gifted to us 

by their church family.

Also we did evangelism, prayer walking, 

and more painting at Kisima!

There may have been some 

swimming at the beach, too.

We loved having two churches from Kentucky join us this summer.

 and there was a lot more, too...football (soccer) 

and Backyard Bible Clubs with the kids!!

QJoy 2026

 We're so blessed when QJoy comes to serve alongside us. 

They come ready to do anything!

They loved on kids with differences 

and they helped with community outreach

they helped with evangelism

and they led BEACH DAY 2026 

for our families who have children 

with cerebral palsy.

Thank you, QJoy, for serving the Lord and

the coastal people of east Africa

with us!!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to Mark, 

the most amazing father to our children. 

Football (soccer) season is in full swing 

at our house since the World Cup is going on.

on the floor with Micah. I am so thankful to God for Mark, 

who loves our children so well, 

and leads them in the ways of the Lord. 

We love you, Mark. 

We honor our Dad's on this day. Thank you to Larry and Johnie 

for being such great examples of fatherhood. 

And thank You to our heavenly Father for

defining what fatherhood is, 

for Your unconditional love,

 Your discipline,

and for providing the only way for us to know You 

through giving Your Son, Jesus. 

Preaching and a Rally

Mark had the honor of preaching last week at Rehoboth Baptist Church.

 The day before, Rehoboth had a Rally 

for the association of churches. 

It was a blessed time of worshiping together.

And we ladies were having a great time 

getting the food ready in the kitchen!!

Family of 5 again at last

Madylanne is home with us on the east coast of Africa.

Yeah!! We are so grateful to God for the wonderful 

senior year of high school she had in 

Kansas. And we are so grateful she is back

with us for a while.

This mama heart is happy.

 And you can tell her brothers are happy, too...not to mention her Dad! 

Adventuring

Madylanne had the great idea to stop over in London 

for a few days on our way back to the East Coast of Africa.

And we took a train ride to Edinburgh! 

yes that's right SCOTLAND. It was incredible. 

Our last day in London we had the privilege 

of attending worship with Highbury Baptist Church 

which was a 5 minute walk from where we stayed.

It always makes my heart rejoice 

to worship the Lord with brothers and sisters in Christ in new places. 

 

Special time with grandparents

Being in Kansas for Madylanne's graduation 

gave us the opportunity for special time with grandparents

(and other family members and many friends)!

We are so grateful for these sweet memories.

 Welcome to the rabbit project at Kisima. 

Aren't they cute!!! 

And yes, rabbits really do multiply fast! 

We are prayerful this project will be helpful in many ways in this community. 

Hands and feet

 Thanking the Lord for the team who came in March and brought AFO braces- ankle foot orthotics- for the kids in the therapy group. These were donated by families with children in the US who outgrew them and responded by giving them to Crystal, the team leader. She and the team carried them across the ocean to many kiddos here on the coast who are benefiting from them now. 

Thank You Lord, for Your love, and your kindness displayed by so many. May these AFO's be a blessing to these kids and their families and a visual reminder of Your goodness, love and care.

an associational training recently in the big city near us. 

It is an honor to teach leaders from the Word of God.

We pray for a clear understanding and application of what was taught. 

 

Resurrection Sunday 2026

What a magnificent way to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ...

at a sunrise service on the beach near us.

A family new to our area joined us too, which made it extra special.

 And here is Madylanne, celebrating Easter with Nana, 

Uncle Brady, Aunt Krista and her cousins Rachel and Calvin!

on the first Thursday of every month. 

This month we had the blessing of being able to share about Easter- 

what is it and why do we celebrate?

Our Savior Jesus Christ is risen and we praise Him-

He is the only way to a relationship with God the Father.
