hippo parade

Here are some hippos coming out to sunbathe on the island in the middle of the Zambezi River behind our house. You can see this from the window in Madylanne's room. Pretty neat!

look at me!!

Matthew is sitting up on his own! Look how proud of himself he is!!! He still wobbles a bit so we keep a pillow behind him just in case. He is all about playing these days...and he got his first tooth too, on the bottom left! Getting too big too fast. :)

swimming pool

Mark is making a swimming pool for Madylanne and eventually Matthew to play in...fun times ahead!! Just the way to spend hot days in the Sesheke sun! Madylanne helped too, as you can see her with her watering can. She put her handprint in the wet cement today, and Matthew put his footprint in there. :)

krispy kreme

Seeing as there's no Krispy Kreme on this continent let alone in Zambia, Mark decided to get creative and make some donuts on Saturday...let me just say YUMMY!!! You're the best Mark!!

stairs to heaven

Hee hee hee, ok, so they definitely aren't really stairs to heaven...they are steps leading to the Zambezi River from our backyard (but there is a fence between the yard and the steps, so don't worry- you can see the fence in the picture that shows the back of our house). Once they and the platform are complete we will have a way to get the inflatable boat into and out of the river at last...

These are some pictures from worship on Sunday. The group worshiping is bigger some Sundays, and smaller some Sundays, like this one. Given is doing a great job preaching the Word! Notice the men sit on stools and the women and children sit on mats.

Please be in prayer for them as they will go to one of the head chiefs tomorrow to formally request a piece of land on which to begin a church building. We are so thrilled for them to be at this stage! Pray for God's guidance, and for His favor to rest on the chief so that he might be willing to share some of his land for a church!!!

ta da!!!

I couldn't help but share this photo...both my guys! I love you Mark and Matthew. :)

ouch...

Being a missionary means doing a little bit of everything...today Mark was a vet. Nala, one of our dogs, got a big gouge in her shoulder and Mark stitched it up for her. She was really good and didn't try to run once!! Guess that means Mark did a super job...and Dominik and Given did a great job holding her down gently.

can you see them??

The little bitty dots in the water are hippos! I know you can barely see them...I promise this is as zoomed in as the camera goes...but with the naked eye you can actually see them pretty well. It is SO cool to hear them snuffing and hmphing and see the water spew up and see them pop up and down in the water like popcorn! This shot is taken from our backyard.

hanging on for dear life...

This little chameleon is doing his very best to match the brown reed fence, but Mark spotted him anyway!

what a helper!

Here's Madylanne, who I PROMISE volunteered to help with the laundry...and what a wonderful helper she is!!! I love you Madylanne!

how bout a smile, kiddos...

Given wanted a picture taken with the kids last week. Bless his heart he is the only one smiling!! :) We love you Given!!

family fun night

This is what we do with the pepperoni people send us...put it to good use on family fun nights! We love to watch our family fun night movie that Madylanne chooses each Friday while we eat our pizza. Mmmmmm :)
Matthew and Madylanne sure do love each other...it really is sweet to watch them together. Thank You God, for my beautiful children who love each other so much....

found you!

Madylanne loves to play hide and seek...I hold Matthew and we take turns hiding from her and then seeking her...and last week we found her here, in her stuffed animal box. TOO CUTE!

having fun with daddy

Here are Mark and Madylanne enjoying a little down time...playing an airplane game on the wii. Madylanne nearly fell off Mark's lap a few times she got so into it!! :)
