Prayers for Baby Boy Wint

Just a little blurb to ask you all to pray for Baby Boy's arrival that is approaching quite rapidly now!!! He will arrive by c-section Wednesday February 2nd, at 2 pm our time, so about 6 am in Kansas. So just as people in the US are trying to determine if the groundhog has seen his shadow or not our little man will hopefully be making his grand entrance.

Please pray for a healthy Baby and a healthy mama, and for Mark as he helps out Melynda and Baby during the day at the hospital and at night makes sure Madylanne is ok as he takes care of her, and for Madylanne's transition from only child to big sis.

We thank God for the excellent hospital where we will be delivering and also Dr. Frohlich, my OB. We also thank God for the missionary families who have offered to help care for Madylanne during the next few days while Melynda and Baby are in the hospital. We thank God for the many missionary families who have had us over for dinner in their homes, offering us love and hospitality. We have so much to thank the Lord for!

And we thank God for you, partnering in prayer with us!! We love you and thank God for you!
love all the wints
ps please be patient with us in the next week as we settle into parenting two....we will be home from the hospital on Saturday, Lord willing, and hopefully soon after that be able to post some pics of baby on the blog.

fun with new friends

Today we had all sorts of fun with new friends we have met while here at the guesthouse in Johannesburg. We were invited by Gary and Michelle Robertson and their family who serve the Lord in Malawi to visit a bird sanctuary, eat lunch together, and then see Madylanne's very first movie in a real theatre, Tangled, 3D no less!!! What a marvelous day we all had together. We saw all kinds of birds and other animals too, and then the kids got their faces painted at the restaurant we went to, and then last but not least was the movie. Here are the kids styling in their 3D glasses. Madylanne has grown to love these kiddos, Samuel is 8 and Lydia is 6. Their family will be returning to Malawi Friday. I know they would appreciate your prayers!

Big Squeeze

Madylanne loves her little brother already! Sweet big sister. :)

Best Buds

Here are Madylanne and Taylor on the playground here at the Baptist Guesthouse. Aren't they sweet together??? Watching them play and hearing them squeal and laugh together just makes my heart smile! We thank God He gave us the wonderful blessing of having Taylor and all her family here last week.

Here in Johannesburg

Here are some pics of our life in Joburg right now...this is the Baptist Guesthouse where we are staying. God sure has blessed us with a homey place to stay while here and lovely people to spend time with...on the bottom is Gerri, one of our teammates from Zambia who is here for a week on business. Madylanne loves Aunt Gerri!
Madylanne and the bull...this painted bull is in front of the hospital where our doctor is and also where I will deliver next week, 2pm on Feb. 2nd.

a date, a date, we have a date....

Hello all,
just thought you'd like to know we have a date for Baby Boy Wint's arrival!!! He is bigger by far than Madylanne was, and since Melynda had such a difficult delivery that turned into a c-section with Madylanne, the OB here in Joburg recommended a c-section for our little (big) guy who is almost 6 and a half pounds already.

so....the big day is....February 2nd! yeah!!!

can't believe it's only 2 and a half weeks away!!! time is flying now...

we love you all and will keep you updated!
thanks for your prayers, love all the Wints

In Gaborone with the Turners

Here we are in Gaborone, Botswana, with our friends the Turners: Brent, Amanda, Taylor, and Bradyn. You can see we had FUN!
Bradyn is getting lots of feminine attention on the couch. Mark and Brent lounged by the pool while Madylanne and Taylor splashed and squealed. And last is Amanda, helping the girls get ready to paint their best friends t-shirts.
We are so blessed because not only did we get to stay a night with them in Gabs, but their whole family is here in Joburg this week for a Bible storying conference. So we get to spend the week with them here!!! yeah, thank You Lord for this special blessing!!!! We love you Turners!

on the way to South Africa

We got to see some fun wildlife on the way to South Africa...elephants and giraffes on the side of the road! This is in Botswana.

Johannesburg or bust

Just a little info to let everyone know we are headed to Johannesburg, South Africa on Wednesday, January 12th...it will take us two days to get there. We leave early in the morning Wed. the 12th, stay our first night in Francistown, which is about a 8 or 9 hour drive into Botswana, and then the next day head on south to Gaborone, to see our dear friends the Turners and stay there one night before heading on to Johannesburg the next day, Fri. the 14th, which is also Melynda's mom's birthday! Happy early birthday Mom!

Our first doctor appointment with the OB is Jan. 17th. Melynda is getting excited....Baby is almost here! Just a few more weeks now.

Please pray for safe travel...for fast and easy border crossings, for fully inflated tires and working engines, etc. We SO appreciate knowing you are praying we all make it there safely!!!!

Pray for God to continue what He is beginning in Sesheke, too, please....

We love all of you and will keep you updated about what is going on as we can!!

God bless you richly,
all the Wints

Given's first sermon

This is our second gathering for Sunday morning worship under the tree out front of our place. Praise God there were more people in attendance this time, and for Given, who asked Mark if he could preach the sermon!! He did a SUPER job preaching from Romans 10:9-10 about what it takes to be saved.
Please pray for Given as he leads worship while we are in Johannesburg and we pray will want to continue doing so when we return!!!

Singing in the Rain

Here are some shots of Madylanne having a ball in our latest downpour. She LOVES to play in the rain! Last photo is of her drying off with her monkey towel, thought it was too cute not to include it.

Our Painting Princess

Look at me! I'm painting my princess suncatcher!! Thanks Grandma!
