Mother's Day 2021

What a special Mother's Day for me this year. Mark and the kids took me out for lunch and then we played on the beach. The kids made cards and Mark surprised me with flowers. I am so blessed by my husband and children! Thank You God for my family!

Learning language and culture

This is Mark and Mr. Alex, working on language on the front porch. We are so thankful for Mr. Alex! Thank You Lord for this friend and helper.

He invited us to his parent's home for a home cooked meal after church on Sunday. What a delicious treat! We are so thankful for their hospitality! Mashed bananas, coconut beans, coconut spinach, meat stew, and chapatis. A feast!

Sitting in the living room: Mr. Alex, his father the pastor, and Mark.

This is Alex's oldest daughter, Tamyra. I thought we should capture her toothless grin with Micah's!

First day of in person school

This is a picture of the boys on their first day of in person school! They are doing fabulous. I'm so happy for them to be making friends and enjoying their teachers. Such a blessing from God!

Madylanne is doing really well in homeschool. The school the boys attend only goes up through 6th grade so Madylanne will be attending a different school (high school!!) that begins in August. In the mean time, she's doing awesome!

Local wildlife

The top two photos are of Colobus monkeys. This species of monkey is endangered and so are protected here. We visited a local spot about 10 minutes from where we live and got to see some close up, plus bush babies that come to get dinner every night- bananas. The kids got to feed them!

Ndengereko

This is a profile of the Ndengereko people of Tanzania. Our family has adopted them this year as a people group to pray for because less than 2% of this tribe are followers of Jesus. Please pray with us that many Ndengereko will call on Jesus as Savior. They are precious to the Lord just like you are!

Mmmm

Here are some pictures of our local cuisine. The sima is much like what is in Zambia- made from ground maize. Here it is thicker, though. We all enjoy this meal! Cabbage relish with onions and tomatoes. Thank you Lucy for helping make the sima! We all have seconds when we eat sima and cabbage.

Sharing the Good News

We are blessed to have a team here - one other family - and churches with whom to worship. The top photo is the evangelism team that goes out once a month from this church. The second photo is the kids Sunday School. Third photo is two of the ladies sharing the Good News. Bottom photo shows the church more clearly.
