We love you Metroeast Kids!

This beautiful quilt was colored by the Sunday School kids at Metroeast Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas. Isn't it gorgeous! We love you, all of you!!! Thank you so much for this very special gift of love!!! We will thank God for all of you as we use it and remember all of you!!!
Thank you Michelle and Kathy for all your help with this project, we love you so much.

Rebekah!

This is Rebekah, the orphan you have all heard so much about...she is back in Sesheke on holiday, but will return to the village where she is living with her uncle's family to attend school for the first time in her life in two weeks. Please pray for her as she will be entering the 6th grade but does not know how to read or write. She is very motivated to learn but has a LOT to catch up on to be at grade level!!!

Heart Felt

This is Sepa (her name means Hope), a teenage gal coming to Wednesday Bible studies under the tree out front. She is a strong believer in Jesus and very involved in her church here in Sesheke. She is my new buddy...she has felt convicted to tell people about Jesus, so on Mondays now we go share Jesus with folks in our neighborhood. This week one person, our neighbor's sister, accepted Christ! Yeah! Sepa and I met together last Saturday to pray and make felt books with each colored page representing an aspect of how one can come to know Jesus, and then we were able to give the books to the children at the homes we visited. The felt came from Woodland Baptist Church in Wichita, KS, and my dear friend Pam, a PT in Texas. Thank you for your part in sharing Jesus with the Lozi people of Zambia!! We use a method called Creation to Christ to share Jesus. Basically we start in Genesis with how God created the world, move to how people sinned and why we need a Savior, and then how Jesus perfectly meets our need for a Savior and how He is the only one who can bring us back to the Father, God. The felt book is a reminder of:
BLACK- sin we have all sinned
RED- Jesus died on the Cross for our sins, even though He is perfect. He rose again on the 3rd day!
WHITE-If we ask God to forgive our sins He is faithful and just to do so, we will be clean and white like snow when He forgives us from our sins
YELLOW- If we ask Jesus to forgive us our sins and confess that Jesus is Lord and want to follow Him, when we die we will go to heaven, where there are streets of gold
GREEN- when we read our Bible or have someone read it to us if we cannot read, and pray, and worship God together with other people who are following Jesus, then we are growing in our faith and closer to Jesus

This cutie pie is Chi-Chi, who is turning 3 tomorrow! She is Sepa's cousin, but they are more like sisters because they are so close. Madylanne loves playing with her when Sepa comes over. Here they are with their babies on their backs.

Fantastic Fencing....

Mark is making cement, and Given and Kosmos are getting started putting up the chain link.
Madylanne is hiding behind the lemon tree!

Over 30 years in Zimbabwe...

We had the honor of having some veteran missionaries stop by during their travels a few weeks ago. They brought some of their friends with them, also from Zimbabwe. The Morgans, who are closest to Mark, have been serving as missionaries with imb in Zimbabwe for more than 30 years. We are so blessed to know them and appreciate their example of faithful servanthood!

Thank You God for growing our family!

Got a belly already don't I!!
We are due in mid February 2011.

Fun with food

Here is Madylanne, digging into her corn cob,

freshly picked from our garden!

She loves her Friday family night Pizza!

And last she was having lots of fun roasting marshmallows,

a first for us in Zambia.

Can you tell she LOVES her new Snoopy shirt from

Grandma and Grandpa??

When life gives you giant lemons...

Look at these lemons, they are as big as grapefruit!
They grow in the tree in front of our house.
We have been enjoying lots of lemonade and lemon bars.
Yummy!

Hippo Sightings!

Hippos folks! Look at these slumbering mammer jammers!
They are on the sand bar island that we can see in the middle
of the Zambezi River which is basically our back yard.
They come every few days and sun themselves and trumpet
and bellow and snooze. Pretty neat!
