Take 2

Mark's language teacher Lorian brought us two kittens this week. They are tiny and adorable. Since the other kittens we had passed away in October due to parvo, we are hopeful these two cuties will be healthy and also good friends with Kali, who watches eagerly when they come out to play.

Maharagwe na nazi na chipati

This is the best meal of coconut beans with chapati that we have ever eaten. Thank you for inviting us to your house, Mike and Ednah, and spoiling us with this delicious coastal dish. SOOO YUMMY! Our entire family LOVES this and nobody makes it better than Ednah!

Merry CHRISTmas from the Wints

Merry CHRISTMAS to everyone! May your hearts overflow with His love and may you have a relationship with God the Father through Jesus, His Son. This is Christmas!

And thank you to our friends for this, our first African Christmas card!
Thank you Pastor Isaac, Allison, and family. We love you!

Happy birthday Jesus!

Look at these adorable cupcake toppers!! Through something only God could've orchestrated, a care package from my Mom arrived just in the nick of time for the Christmas party at church (thank you everyone who had a part in this, you know who you are!!)...and what was in this care package...many goodies, including cupcake toppers with the real meaning of Christmas on them.

You can see the kids at church were enthralled!
They were so excited they got to take home a memento from the Christmas party.

Ednah and I had a lot of fun making them together.

Thank you, Mom, for such a thoughtful gift!
You blessed many lives with your love today, and your love for your Savior!!

Puppy Love

Meet Kali, our Christmas puppy. She is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. She is cute and cuddly and spunky and loves to bark at the hedgehogs she finds in the yard. She has been sick with tick fever but we hope she's on the mend. Kali means fierce and spicy in Kiswahili. The kids are smitten.

Family Time

Such a blessing from God to have little getaway opportunities for our family over the Christmas break. The boys wanted to show Madylanne one of their favorite spots.

Wanna hold a baby crocodile, anyone??

How about a turtle?

Or how about feed a giraffe?

Madylanne when did you get so tall??

These are Colobus monkeys. You can tell by the distinctive white shoulder fur.

Happy 18th anniversary!

Mark and I celebrated our 18th anniversary on December 20th. I am so thankful to God for bringing our lives together! He is a constant reminder to me of how much Jesus loves His bride, the church.
Thank you Mark, for your love that points me to Christ. I love you too!

Check out this awesome sign the kids made for us!
We had a lunch date and when we came home this was on the door.
