Welcome Spring 2009!

Yes, here we are in the middle of a winter storm that forgot spring arrived last week. Madylanne has been too sick with fever everyday for the last week to play in the snow today, unfortunately, but Melynda got to tromp around in it and be reminded that in the stillness and the beauty of fresh fallen snow, the Lord is there.

We’ve all been watching lots of Elmo, as he is Madylanne’s favorite critter these days. We broke the cycle with watercolors this afternoon. Madylanne enjoyed painting with water the most!

Our Daughter

Madylanne is a huge blessing from God. From the beginning she was a surprise and each new day we stand in awe of the gift God has given us. She loves to sing, color, draw and play with play-doh. Due to her artistic ventures she is learning her colors. Her favorite thing to watch is anything that has Elmo in it. When she climbs the stairs outside our apt. she tries to count the steps. She is amazing. We say this not only because we are biased but because she was created by God. As said by David in Psalm 139:14, “I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Thy works, And my soul knows it very well.” We do serve an awesome God. He took great care in creating us and not turning His back on us but cared for us even when we denied Him. Sending His Son, Jesus Christ, He bridged the gap so that we may have fellowship with Him. God does care for us and I am reminded of this every time I see Madylanne smile, then I melt and praise God.

God our Provider

We have recently returned from Virginia where we took part in the IMB’s Candidate Conference. This was an intense but wonderful time. We met many great people who also are answering the call God has placed on their lives. When God is at work awesome things happen and He has been at work guiding us through this process. I do not have the time or the space to tell of all the great things God has been doing in our lives. He has completed many circles of relationships which have been very influential to and for us. God provides and that is what He is doing for us. We serve a wonderful God who takes care of us. He has continually met our needs at the same time preparing us to serve Him overseas.
