Ramadan 2023

Wednesday marked the beginning of Ramadan, a month of fasting in the Islamic faith. For some, this will strengthen their devotion to Islam, while others may feel more disconnected to the faith and reaffirm their preference for atheism or deism.

Christians will have many opportunities to engage in spiritual conversations with a range of people from cultural Muslims to devout believers. Unlike a works based faith that strives to please Allah, Christians will share the Good News of a salvation that is based on God's mercy where they can rest in His grace.

Pray for hearts to be softened to receive the Gospel.

Pray that many will accept God's free gift of salvation.

(Taken from the IMB fb page.)

Please pray for those who are earnestly seeking the truth. Pray they will be drawn to Jesus Christ. Pray for us to share with boldness and respect.

Kisima....a new building

Thank you all for praying for God to open the doors of a new location for Kisima to meet...we are so excited that God has answered your prayers and provided this location!

Here are Mark and Mike looking through the building. Today new doors for the gate are being installed. Please pray God will bring clients who long to be free from addiction and who are ready for a fresh start at life. Pray their hearts will be open to Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life. John 14:6

tea time

So over the last month I have traveled to see Madylanne at school a lot....I even got to stay with her on campus for a while! What a blessing it's been. We enjoyed a cup of chai, hot tea with milk and sugar, one evening off campus.

Madylanne has worked HARD and we are super proud of her perseverance and great attitude. She is well known on her campus for her caring, compassionate heart and loyalty.

There is a big change in our family....Madylanne is coming home to be with us for the remainder of her high school (she was at a boarding school, which is the common way of high schooling in our neck of the woods). She will be a homeschooling high schooler. Her brothers are beside themselves with joy and I confess her dad and I are pretty excited, too. We know the Lord has amazing plans for Madylanne and we are so blessed to see first hand what He is doing in her life.

Nature Walk

While at a homeschool conference, on the very last day we got to hang out with dear friends from Zambia and also Kansas....So good to have a week together with them and many other homeschooling families we knew/know. On the very last day we got up early early so we could take a nature walk before getting on our planes back to our areas of service. Thankful for dear friends who are willing to get up at the crack of dawn! We love you, Kim and Ethan!

thankful for friends

What a huge blessing to have Kim (seated at a table with us, not in photo) and Ethan come for a few days. We loved every minute of their visit!! Thank you for coming to see us! We love you both and are grateful to God for you!!

Mvua!

Thank you so much for praying for rain....can you see the rain dripping off the metal sheet roofing? It isn't raining everyday but we are getting good rains every so often, as are many parts of the country where we live. Thank God with us for answering our cry for rain! May it continue and the drought subside!
