His glory

While visiting Madylanne at her school the Lord showed me something in the Word I had never really paid attention to before.

You remember how Moses told the elders of the Israelites that the Lord was going to bring them out of slavery, and the Bible says the people believed, and they bowed their heads and worshiped Him (Exodus 4:31). And then…Pharaoh won’t let them go and their lives get HARDER because now they have to gather their own straw and still make the same amount of bricks as they did before. They are worn out, tired, and confused. Wasn’t God supposed to rescue them? What happened? Moses tries to encourage them again with the promises of God, truth for their weary hearts. But in Exodus 6:9 it says they did not listen to Moses because of their broken spirit and harsh slavery.

Wow. So at first they received the good news with belief and worship. And then life got even harder than it already was. And they were too exhausted physically, emotionally, spiritually, to be able to listen. Their hearts were broken. Their bodies were broken.

Have you ever been in a place where you hoped and thought things would get better but then you were disappointed…it seemed like God had walked away or maybe He just wasn’t hearing you….but really He was still working and you couldn’t see it because you were so TIRED, EXHAUSTED, WORRIED, OVERCOME, FRUSTRATED….

God sees you, hears you, knows you, and hasn’t walked away. I pray that whatever you are in the middle of right now, that you can find rest in Jesus…because His Words are Truth, His yoke is light, He is your Redeemer.

Things may get harder before you see what God is doing.

And He is still there through it all. He is with you. Speaking Words of Truth. Fighting for you. Fighting for His glory in your life.
